Nishna Valley Wings Monthly Meeting
November 22, 2009
The monthly meeting of the Nishna Valley Wings was held Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Indian Creek Museum. President Jo Allen called the meeting to order at 9:30 AM. There were 11 members and three guests present.
Jo welcomed guests Dan Dolan and Terry and Evelyn Dunaway.
We are to take our food to Jack and Ruth Chaney for the chapter food drive for Christmas. They will ask Bob and Judy Klever to pick it up for the Guthrie Center area food drive.
Susan Perkins gave a report on the Mills County Love Tree. Susan and Deb Forristall shopped for four children and gifts included winter coat, clothes, toys, games, etc. They were very successful in their shopping venture. The members helped wrap each gift and Susan will deliver them to the Malvern bank for distribution.
Nishna Valley Cycles’ open house will be December 12 in Atlantic. Jo did ask Dennis if he would like help from our members and he said yes. The time that he would need help is between 11AM and 2PM. It was decided that our members will meet at the Pines (one block east of HyVee in Atlantic) for supper at 5:00 following the open house.
Lowell will call for reservations. Please RSVP to him.
o Chapter I’s February Thaw has a theme of Love “Bears” All. Members thought it was BARE ALL! It had to be clarified before we humiliate ourselves!
o The Iowa GWTA state meeting will be February 27, 2010 at the Country Kitchen, NE 14th Street, Des Moines. .
o We have a new name for our Fun Run. It will be held July 11, 2010 and be called Nishna Valley Wings Bikers’ Ride. .
o Kenny Evans won a gold dollar at our meeting for knowing the answer to a trivia question from the Touring News. Way to go, Kenny! .
o Dan Dolan invited us to join them any Sunday for breakfast at 9:00 AM at the Country Kitchen in Omaha. It is in the Shopko plaza at 144th and Center. They started the tradition years ago and many GWTA
members attend. .
o The next Chapter P meeting will be Sunday, December 27 at the Indian Creek Museum at 9:00 AM.
Lowell made a motion, seconded by Ruth to hold a regifting exchange. Bring your worst gift ever for a good time! Any unwanted gifts will be recycled at the dirty bingo game for GWTA.
o The fine for this meeting was not wearing your Chapter patch. Most members donated a quarter! .
o Ruth shared a tip with our group to take your GWTA membership card to Full Throttle Motor Sports in Council Bluffs to receive a 20% coupon for merchandise at their store.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:20.
