Hello all,
Well it is now October the year is coming to an end. Just around the corner is Thanksgiving then Christmas then before we know it a New Year begins.
Region C Director is asking for our help to recruit new members or get old ones back. Remember to get them involved so they have
fun and make new friendships. His incentive program is the State that recruits the most new members in six months which started Sept 1st will receive $500.00 cash if those new members renew after their first year is up. When Iowa wins this and I know we can I will give the chapter that recruits and retains the most $300.00 of that $500.00. So let us get out and work hard we can do it.
Plus Dave Telford told us of another way for the members to earn $55.00 for recruiting 2 members and you will receive 1 year
membership renewal for yourself. We need to recruit new members as a State we are down in numbers as well as a Region.
If you know of anyone that wants to start a chapter have them contact us and we will sign them up.

Get them to him as soon as possible so he can get them recorded and sent on to Region so Rick can send them on to National by
Dec 15th.
Family of the Year
I need your chapter family of the year by Nov 30th. This is to include a Bio, Picture, and a letter of why the chapter director thinks they should be State family of the year. Bio, Picture and chapter director letters are required items to be considered for State family of the year.
The State meeting will be Feb 27, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Country Kitchen 5030 N.E. 14th Des Moines, Iowa
Chapter over the winter months keep active. Have dinners, Christmas parties, New Years Eve or just get together at someone's house. Encourage members to come up with ideas on things to do and places to see as a year round thing. Please don't say "we tried it once and it did not work" Try again it may work this time.
Ride & Rave Program
Time is running out this program ends Oct 31st. So let's see how many we can get by the end of the month. Remember the first chapter that gets two business to sign up gets their chapter
registration paid.
Hallow Wing campout went very well. We had three of our six chapters represented. Chapter's A, P and I. We had one couple that put up a tent and camped overnight. Thank you to all that came out and had a great time. Next year we have ordered Great Weather.
Iowa Patches
We have an official Iowa GWTA patch and it sells for $6.00. We have a few on hand and I have ordered 25 more. It would be great to have every member purchase one and wear it on their vest or jacket or both. Another idea is each chapter purchase some to give to new members. This would make them feel like part of the group from the start.
I know earlier in this newsletter I talked about recruiting. I would like to see each chapter increase by one membership by the end of the
year. This is a small step but in the long run it will turn out to be a large step for Iowa and GWTA.
The first chapter that increases their membership by six(6) memberships by the end of the year the state will pay for their chapter registration for two(2) years. If the six (6) new
memberships sign up for two (2) or more years.
This can include members that have dropped.
